Coach Pat Jeanneret, Head Coach
Coach Pat returns for his 5th season with the GMVY Flippers Swim Team, 2nd as the
Head Coach. He is in his 9th summer coaching the Lakota Hills Wavemakers Swim
Team, three as an assistant and six as the head coach. One of his proudest
accomplishments is assisting the LH team to grow from 100 to 183 swimmers in 2007!
Pat is a graduate of Lakota East High School, where he was a four-year varsity
swimmer. He also swam for three seasons with the GMVY Flippers.
Currently, Pat is enrolled as a full-time student at Miami University and is pursuing a
Bachelors degree in Secondary Education.
Coach Jenn Betts, Assistant Coach
Coach Jenn is the newst members of our coaching staff. Jenn begins her swimming career at the age of 9 at the Powel Crosley YMCA. Once of Jenn's many accomplishments was being ranked in the Top 16 of the National YMCA listings at the young age of 11. She also swam three seasons for the GMVY Flippers.
Jenn continued her swimming career at Bowling Green State University as a Division I InterCollegiate swimmers. She walked on to the team her Freshman year and qualified in the Top 8 in two events and Top 16 in one event at the MAC Division Championships earning her a full scholarship. Jenn graduated in May 2008 from BGSU with a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
Jenn is also a graduate of Winton Woods high school, where she was a four-year varsity swimmer. She has also coached the Fairfield City Piranha Swim Team for two seasons. She is currently working part-time at Red Lobster and will also be a swim instructor at the Fairfield YMCA. Jenn brings with her an enthusiasm for coaching all levels of swimmers and a great knowledge of competitive swimming. Jenn is very excited to join our team and looks forward to getting to know each swimmer.
Coach Miriam Hollan, Assistant Coach
Coach Miriam began her tenure with the Flippers in 1999. The 2008-2009 season
marks her 10th year as Assistant Coach with the team and has led many 6 & unders,
7-8 and 9-10 year olds to multiple league AA Championship meets in addition to many
9-10 swimmers to the Great Lakes Zone Invitational. She also coaches the Beckett
Ridge Barracudas Swim Team, located in West Chester, Ohio, for the previous nine
seasons, leading them to win their 13th consecutive Tri-County Swim League
Championship. Prior to joining the GMVY Flippers and moving to Cincinnati, Miriam
also coached various youth swim teams in Pennsylvania.
Miriam holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Shippensburg
University of Pennsylvania and is currently focusing on a career in marketing and event management at EyeMed Vision Care, a division of Luxottica Retail. While at
Shippensburg, she was a member of the varsity swim team and achieved 7 All
American honors from the NCAA Division II for her swimming achievements. She can
still be found on the SU's Top 10 Times list for the women's team in both the 100 and
200 backstroke events. Miriam also currently competes in various United States
Masters Swimming invitationals.
Coach Ryan Jeanneret, Assistant Coach
The 2008-2009 season marks Ryan's second year at GMVY. He also coaches in the summer for Lakota Hills Swim Club. Besides a strong background in swimming, Ryan possesses and demonstrates a solid knowledge of strength training and stretching.
Ryan is a graduate of Lakota West. After high school, Ryan attended college at The Ohio State University and has his degree in Consumer Affairs/Marketing.
Coach Steve Braun, Assistant Coach
Steve Braun has been coaching swimming since 1990. He was the Head Coach at Hamilton High School from 1990-1995 and has been the Head Coach at the Rolling Hills Swim Club in Fairfield since 1994. Steve joined the coaching staff at GMVY in 2000.
Steve is a graduate of Hamilton High School and Ohio State and has been teaching Social Studies at Hamilton High School since 1990.
